Cadillac will participate again at Le Mans race

American car company Cadillac for the first time in fourteen years, will take part in endurance races Le Mans Series. On the race track the company will be presented by a new sports car DPi-V.R. It was reported that the new racing prototype Cadillac was created by specialists in strict accordance with the applicable rules of racing competitions. According to regulations, the company is entitled to use only one of the four platforms.

Racing car Cadillac will use the platform «Dallara», as well as the engine of its own production. It is known that it will be a new 6.2-liter eight-cylinder engine, working in tandem with a sequential gearbox and dry crankcase. Motor will largely repeat the design features of the CTS-V unit.

Maximum performance of 6.2-liter engine Cadillac is not less than six hundred horsepower. It is assumed that the total weight of the racing car will not exceed 900 kilograms. It is worth recalling that the American premium brand Cadillac for the last time was involved in endurance racing 14 years ago! Last car of the company – Northstar LMP was prepared fro the American Le Mans Series.
