Before the release of fully self-governing machines, Cadillac will launch the model with intermediate technology of an advanced cruise control. The new technology, which General Motors will introduce first in Cadillac cars, will be called Super Cruise. In fact it is an active cruise control, combined with the lane keeping assist system of a vehicle. It is unknown which car will receive the first Super Cruise, but most likely it will be a new flagship sedan Cadillac LTS, built on a platform of an Elmiraj coupe concept. Thus the company will make another step to the area of fully autonomous vehicles.

The second related technology is that all the cars on the road will be linked by a special protocol and will communicate in their own language. Through it, for example, the information about traffic jams will be instantly spread. The second benefit of this technology combined with super Cruise is the fact that the machines can go closer to each other, keeping a safe distance and freeing up the road. Now the automaker is working closely with the Michigan Technological University on the solution of this problem.
