Cadillac introduced the racing version of the ATS compact coupe at the Los Angeles auto show. The car is produced in accordance with the requirements of the FIA GT3 championship. The car is called ATS-V.R; it is equipped with the upgraded 3.6-liter 6-cylinder twin-turbo engine from the CTS Vsport sedan. Engine power was increased from 425 to 600 horsepower, and the maximum torque reaches 705 Nm. This was made due to the installation of two new BorgWagner turbochargers, more efficient intercoolers, racing intake and exhaust systems, as well as the reprogramming of the engine electronic control module.

For weight reduction Cadillac ATS-V.R got carbon fiber hood, trunk lid and doors, as well as an aerodynamic carbon fiber, including the front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirt. As a result, the mass of the car is only 1315 kg. The machine has a near-perfect weight distribution (49/51) due to the installation of a 6-speed Xtrac gearbox in the block with the rear differential.
