333-strong Cadillac CT6 hybrid debuted in Shanghai

The plug-in hybrid version of flagship Cadillac CT6 which has recently debuted at the New York Auto Show was presented at the Motor Show in Shanghai. Plug-in hybrid propulsion system consists of a 4-cylinder petrol turbo engine with a capacity of 2.0 liters, working together with a newly developed electric CVT on the rear axle with two electric motors, providing luxury sedan a combined output of 335 hp and 586 Nm of torque.

The manufacturer did not disclose the weight of the CT6 hybrid version, but it was stated that new equipment has reduced the fuel consumption in half. The package also includes a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 18.4 kW, located between the rear seats and the trunk, providing a cruising range sufficient for the majority of daily trips, although the precise electric range is not specified.

Cadillac CT6 PHEV received the advantages of Regen on Demand, which allows the driver to temporarily redirect the energy to charge the battery for later use. Activation of the system proceeds by using the petal-switch on the steering wheel and it will slow down the car when start of the corner for the best path. Cadillac says that the hybrid CT6 received three driving modes: Normal, Sport and Hold.
