2015 Cadillac Escalade will get a diesel and sport version

Cadillac Escalade SUV will receive a version with a diesel engine and charged VSport modification. It was announced by David Schiavone, the product manager of American company. Schiavone did not go into details, but he confirmed that the Cadillac Escalade is going to be equipped with a six-cylinder diesel engine to increase the popularity of the model in markets outside the United States.

In addition, Cadillac Escalade will get a branded VSport hot version with a twin-turbo V6. Probably, it is a 3.6-liters 420-strong unit from the sedan CTS VSport. Standard V8 of the Escalade gives a similar power, so the output of the huge SUV will be considerably increased.

Cadillac already offers its customers two VSport hot models – both with a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6. XTS VSport power unit produces 410 hp and 500 Nm of torque, and the power plant of CTS VSport is capable of delivering up to 420 horsepower and 583 Nm of torque.

For comparison – the new Escalade uses the 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 horses and 623 Nm of torque. More detailed information about the turbo diesel is not known yet.
