General Motors presented the second-generation of Cadillac ELR hybrid coupe

American concern General Motors presented the second generation of Cadillac ELR hybrid coupe. As David Caldwell, the representative of the company said, an updated Cadillac ELR debuted in November at the Los-Angeles Auto Show. It received a number of engineering improvements.

Obviously the American manufacturer had worked to increase the electric range. In the case of the first version of the Cadillac ELR, the characteristic was about 55 km, and in co-operation of the electric motor and 1.4-liter petrol engine, which is used to replenish the reserve batteries, the car can cover around 550 kilometers on one full tank of fuel. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 sec. The maximum speed is 160 km/h. Also the new Cadillac ELR received a full-fledged internal combustion engine supplying traction to the wheels. Interior design received a rich wood and chrome trimming.

We remind that the first generation of hybrid coupe was not too popular. During nine month the company sold only 774 models. In many ways, the low demand is associated with the high cost of the machine – $75 thousand.
