Cadillac CT6 Sedan will get brand new engines (part 1)

Flagship business sedan CT6 produced by the American manufacturer of premium cars Cadillac will receive two six-cylinder engines of the latest generation. Cadillac CT6 sedan will get two motors – two-liter four-cylinder turbo unit and eight-cylinder Twin Turbo engine (for the older version). So, apparently, new four-cylinder engines are prepared for the cars of the middle class modifications.

It was assumed that the place of the middle class engine will take 3.6-liter 6-cylinder unit with two turbochargers, built on the basis of the atmospheric V6 LFX. But it turned out that the flagship sedan will receive two engines of GM High Future family, created from scratch. This is a completely new 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine LGX and another one built on its base – 3.0-liter V6 Twin Turbo LGW.

At its core, the motor LGX – is a direct injection, the new more rigid aluminum cylinder block, a forged crankshaft and connecting rods, pistons coated with polymeric materials. A new high-speed cooling system will control the temperature regime. An exhaust manifold is integrated to the cylinder head.
