At the auto show in Los Angeles, Cadillac introduced its new premium crossover XT5, which is approximately equal in SRX size and is considered as its heir. However, the engineers could reduce the weight of the model to 126 kg; compared with the smaller Audi Q5 crossover XT5 is lighter at 45 kg. The developers have also increased legroom in the second row by 8 cm that can catch the interest of more customers and highlight the model among competitors in this emerging market segment.

As for technology, the crossover is on the high horse too. So, XT5 is the first Cadillac car with an Electronic Precision Shift, which will reduce a transmission noise, and free up some space in the cabin. The SUV is also supplied by a modernized rear view camera technology (it helps to present an image on a display which shows all the way behind the driver if there is no car, no passengers, that provides better visibility). The novelty in the premium SUV class will begin its market launch in the spring of 2016.
