On the Chinese market Cadillac XT5 is offered with V4 2.0-liter LTG that can generate 250-hp and 400 Nm or 269-hp and 400 Nm. At the auto show in Chengdu, the manufacturer unveiled XT5 equipped by a mild hybrid power unit that is based on the V4 2.0 LTG with the capacities of 269-hp and 400 Nm, supplemented by a combined 6.6 kW motor-generator with 9-hp and 49 Nm output. Since the hybrid XT5 crossover is just mild, the traction battery has only 0.45 kWh capacities.

In addition to the motor, the carmaker added a new 9-step automatic transmission while other versions have an 8-step one. The drive is all-wheel. The new power plant allows the crossover to accelerate from zero to a hundred in 8.2 seconds, develop 210 km/h top speed and spend 7.9 l per 100 km in the combined cycle that is less if to compare with 8.2 and 8.7-liter figure available for non-hybrid XT5 cars.

Two improved XT5 modifications with a hybrid motor under 28E Advanced 4WD index and 28E Platinum 4WD have a price of 479.9 and 539.9 thousand Yuan. In China, these are two the most expensive XT5variations. They will come instead of the previous 28T Platinum 4WD and 28T Advanced 4WD top versions.
